Husband Discovers Wife, 27, Deceased at Midlands Home, Leaves Infant Son
A husband has been left devastated after discovering his wife dead in their Midlands residence. Damian Butler, 40, returned home on the evening of Wednesday, March 4, to find the body of his wife, Beatrice Solomon, aged 27.
The father-of-one immediately dialled 999, with paramedics from the West Midlands Ambulance Service arriving at the property within seven minutes. Despite their efforts, Beatrice could not be saved and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Heartbreaking Discovery Details
Damian Butler recounted the tragic events, stating he left the house at approximately 4:50 PM and returned around 6:50 PM. "I walked upstairs and shouted but she didn't respond, and I found her in the bedroom," he said. "I called 999 and asked for instructions to do CPR, but by the time paramedics got there she was dead."
He noted that Michael Jackson music was playing when he arrived home, a detail that adds to the poignancy of the situation. Beatrice Solomon is survived by her 11-month-old son Theodore, along with her sisters and brother.
Background and Personal Memories
Beatrice came to Stoke-on-Trent from Nigeria in November 2023 on a skilled worker visa, working as a carer. Damian met her in January 2024, though they had previously connected on Facebook. "Originally we were going to be house-mates but we ended up falling in love as soon as we met," he shared.
Their first date was at The Moorland Inn, a place they cherished, often referring to a specific table as their "marital table." Beatrice was described as an amazing person who loved music, baking bread, and cooking at home.
Police Investigation and Family Impact
Staffordshire Police confirmed they were called to the address on Norris Road in Stanfield following reports of a sudden death. A police spokesman stated: "Officers went to the scene alongside paramedics. Sadly, a woman was pronounced dead at the scene. Her death is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for HM coroner."
Damian expressed the difficulty of coping, saying, "I've been trying to get on with things but it's been very difficult." He added that their son Theo is happy and thriving but has become very clingy to him since the loss.

In response to the tragedy, Damian Butler has launched an online fundraising appeal to cover funeral costs, aiming to give Beatrice the send-off she deserves. The community has been urged to support the family during this challenging time.
