Former I'm a Celebrity Star Denies Serious Sexual Offense Charges
Lord Charles Brocket, the television personality who gained fame on the 2004 series of I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here!, has formally pleaded not guilty to multiple charges of rape and sexual assault during a court appearance this week.
The 73-year-old peer from Fulham in West London appeared before Isleworth Crown Court on Wednesday, where he confirmed his identity and entered his plea against all allegations.
Detailed Charges and Court Proceedings
Brocket faces two counts of rape, two counts of sexual assault, and one count of sexual activity without consent, all alleged to have occurred in London on August 10, 2025, involving the same victim according to reports from The Mirror.
Dressed in a navy suit with a white shirt and blue tie, the former reality television contestant maintained his innocence throughout the hearing. The court has scheduled his trial to begin on November 1, 2027, with a pre-trial review set for October 7 next year.
Previous Charges and Legal Background
Earlier this year, Brocket had been charged with an additional count of sexual assault by penetration alleged to have taken place in Warbleton, East Sussex, on May 5, 2025. However, prosecutors subsequently dropped this particular charge before the current proceedings.
During a previous hearing in September last year, Brocket's legal counsel Crispin Aylett KC indicated his client's intention to plead not guilty to all charges. Judge Martin Edmunds KC, the Recorder of the Royal Borough of Kensington, confirmed the trial date at that time.
Trial Logistics and Judicial Comments
The senior judge acknowledged the significant delay in scheduling the trial, explaining to all parties involved that the combination of increasing case backlogs and priority given to custody matters has resulted in the extended timeline.
Judge Edmunds estimated the trial would require approximately seven days to complete when it eventually proceeds in late 2027. Brocket has been granted conditional bail pending the trial date.
Background of the Accused
Charles Ronald George Nall-Cain, 3rd Baron Brocket, became a household name through his eccentric behavior during the fourth series of I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here!, where he finished in fourth place.
An Old Etonian with a reputation as a playboy, Brocket was previously known for his extensive collection of classic automobiles during the 1980s and early 1990s, once owning forty-two Ferraris. His television appearance cemented his public profile beyond aristocratic circles.
The case continues to develop as both prosecution and defense prepare for the scheduled trial, with Brocket maintaining his denial of all charges throughout the legal process.
