Police are hunting a man after a teenage girl was seriously sexually assaulted in Wolverhampton city centre. The attack took place on Bilston Street on Monday, February 23, after the victim got off a bus at around 10.30pm.
The teenager had travelled on the 529 National Express West Midlands bus from Walsall to Wolverhampton. As she alighted, she was subjected to a serious sexual assault, according to West Midlands Police.
Police appeal for help identifying suspect
Officers have now released CCTV images of a man they would like to speak to in connection with the incident. The man is described as black, wearing a baseball cap, a grey hoodie with the hood pulled up, black trousers, and distinctive silver/grey and white leg coverings over the lower part of his legs. He also wore white and grey trainers and a black parka-style jacket with a fur-lined hood.
In a statement, a West Midlands Police spokesperson said: "Investigators are asking for your help to identify this man after a girl was seriously sexually assaulted in Wolverhampton. The teenager, who is being supported by our specialist officers, was assaulted in Bilston Street, after getting off the 529 bus travelling from Walsall to Wolverhampton. It happened at around 10.30pm on Monday, 23 February, and the investigation team has been working to identify who is responsible."
