Nottingham Named Most Dangerous City in the Midlands Based on Crime Rate
Nottingham Tops Midlands Crime Rate Rankings

A Midlands city has been identified as one of the most dangerous in England, based on crime rates adjusted for population. Nottingham has been declared the most dangerous in the region and ranks seventh overall in England and Wales.

Contrary to expectations, major cities like Birmingham, Wolverhampton, and Stoke-on-Trent did not make the national top 10. Birmingham, despite having the highest total number of offences due to its large population, ranks 16th when crime rate is considered.

Crime Rates in the Midlands

Nottingham recorded a crime rate of 122 offences per 1,000 residents, the only Midlands location in the top 10. Birmingham's rate stands at 114.1. Other Midlands cities include Derby in 20th place, Stoke-on-Trent and Gloucester jointly at 24th, and Leicester at 38th.
