West Midlands Police have issued an image of a man they wish to speak to in connection with a religiously aggravated harassment incident on a bus in Great Barr, Birmingham.
Incident Details
The incident occurred on February 9 at approximately 3:35 PM on the National Express number 33 service traveling along Aldridge Road, which passes through Perry Barr and Great Barr. A female passenger was subjected to verbal abuse of a religiously aggravated nature by a man on the bus.
The woman reported the incident to the police, who have now released a photograph of the suspect in an effort to identify him.
Police Appeal
West Midlands Police are appealing for public assistance to identify the man. In a statement, they said: "APPEAL | Do you recognise this man? We would like to speak to him with regards to a religiously aggravated harassment which took place on the number 33 bus in Birmingham. A woman was verbally abused by a man which was of a religiously aggravated nature. It took place shortly after 3:35pm, on 9 February, on the Aldridge Road."
Anyone who recognises the man is urged to contact the police. The statement added: "If you recognise him ring 101 quoting crime reference number 20/143208/26. Alternatively, call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111."
