Prince Harry is reportedly 'very sad' that his children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, are 'missing out on life' with the Royal Family. A source close to the Duke of Sussex claims the family is having a 'lovely time' in Montecito, California, where they now reside.
However, Harry, 41, is said to be saddened that his children are 'missing out on the extensive family network' that Prince William's three children enjoy. The source said: 'Harry feels his children are missing out on the extensive family network that their cousins are enjoying.'
Harry wants his children to have the very best education and has retained his closest friendship group from his school days at Ludgrove and Eton. 'He wants that for his own children... Archie and Lili are having a lovely time in California, but Harry is very sad that they are missing out on life with the rest of their family,' the source added.
Meghan Markle, 44, recently shared two adorable photographs of Archie to commemorate his seventh birthday, depicting family bliss. One showed Archie and Lilibet enjoying a trip to the seaside in the US, where the couple has lived since stepping back from royal duties in 2020.
Last year, Harry spoke about life in the US, saying: 'I enjoy living and bringing my kids up here, it’s a part of my life that I never thought I was going to live and it feels as though it’s the life that my mum wanted for me.'
However, friends believe his opinion has changed, particularly after Prince William and Princess Kate released a new photograph and video of Princess Charlotte for her 11th birthday. A friend told the Daily Mail that Harry desperately wishes his children enjoyed the same childhood as their cousins, Princess Charlotte, Prince George, 12, and Prince Louis, eight.
The Prince and Princess of Wales' children attend Lambrook School, a private institution costing £32,000 per year in Berkshire. Harry attended Ludgrove School and later Eton College. However, it is understood Meghan is against her children following in such footsteps.
The insider continued: 'There is still some negotiation for Harry to have with Meghan. The King, however, is delighted.' This suggests Harry has discussed his plans to educate his children in Britain with King Charles, whom he met for tea at Clarence House last September.
Reports indicate Harry hopes to bring Meghan and possibly their children with him when he returns to the UK this summer to promote the upcoming Invictus Games for injured and sick former service personnel, to be held in Birmingham.
