The 44-year-old singer shared an emotional video message on Instagram, visibly upset as she broke the news to her followers.

In the candid video, Shaw fought back tears while explaining her recent absence from social media. "I don't even know where to start with this post," she began. "I've not been online for a little while because I've just been navigating some stuff in my life which is a break up that I'm going through at the moment."
The singer admitted she hadn't planned to address the breakup publicly initially. "I genuinely did not expect I'd be saying this out loud... it's been tough, it's been really tough. I wasn't actually going to say anything online, I wasn't going to address this at all," she revealed.
Focus on Mental Health and Healing
Shaw explained that she decided to share the news because of her account's focus on mental health awareness. "But I thought that the nature of my account is all about mental health – my struggles with my mental health, quitting alcohol, changing my lifestyle, taking up running... all of the things that have brought me stability," she said.
The former Popstars winner confirmed the relationship ended in January and emphasized how her personal development journey has helped her cope. "It's been tricky but my goodness, thank god I've got the tools to navigate this. Thank god it's been six years of not drinking, six years of dedicating my life to my personal development," Shaw stated.

Shaw acknowledged that the process hasn't been perfect but highlighted the strategies helping her through this difficult time. "I've not been perfect through this and it's been a little bit messy but I've certainly been able to tap into therapy and meditation, running, understanding that I need to eat well and that I need to just lean into this pain and heal," she explained.
The singer framed this period as a new chapter focused on self-care. "And it is a new chapter of deep healing now because I'm going into the era of having the greatest love affair with myself," she declared.

Suzanne Shaw and Sam Greenfield got engaged in 2014 after a whirlwind 12-month romance. Their son Rafferty was born in 2015, adding to Shaw's family that includes 21-year-old son Corey, whom she co-parents with former partner Darren Day.
Shaw concluded her message by emphasizing the importance of this public acknowledgment for her healing process. "It was important for me to share this to close one chapter to move into the next. I've not known what to say since the start of January," she shared. "But here I am, nearly in March, ready to go on this journey of total true self healing and giving myself the highest quality of love that I should've done a long time ago."
