Hundreds of cannabis plants with a street value exceeding £220,000 were seized by police during a raid in Telford. Officers from West Mercia Police discovered 260 plants of the Class-B drug when they executed a warrant at a property on Alma Avenue on the morning of April 23.
No one was present inside the property at the time of the raid, and investigations are ongoing. The seizure is part of a broader effort to disrupt organised criminal networks operating in the area.
Police Praise Proactive Work
Neighbourhood officer Sergeant Matt Corfield commended the operation, stating: "Today's warrant was an excellent piece of proactive work by our Safer Neighbourhood Teams. Cannabis farms of this scale are often linked to organised criminal groups, and shutting them down helps protect our communities from the wider harm these operations cause."
He added: "The discovery of more than £220,000 worth of plants shows just how important this warrant was. I would like to thank the officers involved for their professionalism and thoroughness. Our enquiries are ongoing, and we will continue to act on intelligence to identify those responsible and prevent drugs from reaching our streets."
