UK households have been issued a warning to discard all food items from a frozen food supplier sold in hundreds of stores nationwide due to hygiene concerns. Consumers are advised to dispose of the products safely at home, and businesses are also urged to take immediate action.
Food Standards Agency Warning
The Food Standards Agency (FSA) has issued a warning against all frozen products from Inarah's Frozen Food Ltd. According to the company's website, its products are available in hundreds of stores across the UK. The FSA stated: "Food businesses and consumers should be aware that frozen products in Inarah's Frozen Food, Inarah's Fine Food, and New York Crispy packaging may be unsafe to eat."
The agency added that the company was "unable to demonstrate that the products in this alert have been produced and handled safely." All frozen foods from the brands "Inarah's Frozen Foods", "Inarah's Fine Foods", or "New York Crispy" from three specific addresses are included in the alert.
Affected Addresses
The three addresses are: Four Seasons Food Group, Unit 7-8 Monarch Works, Elswick Road, Fenton Industrial Estate, Stoke-on-Trent, ST4 2SH; and KBH Foods, BD9 4TS.
The FSA explained: "Products that have not met food hygiene and safety requirements pose a risk to consumers and may be unsafe to eat. The products are known to have been supplied to food businesses across the UK." These brands cover a wide range of frozen products, including chicken, beef, fish, and vegetarian items, packaged in various sizes with multiple best before dates and batch numbers.
Action Required
The FSA advised: "Food businesses selling these products in the UK are advised to immediately stop sales, undertake product withdrawals and where there have been retail sales, to undertake product recalls. Products should be disposed of safely."
The agency further stated: "We are asking enforcement authorities to ensure that businesses who have received the affected products take action to ensure that these products are withdrawn from the market and, where there have been retail sales, recalled. We are also asking the Local Authorities to inform the FSA of product withdrawal and recall actions."
