Wife School Teaches Submission to Husbands for £330 Fee

A woman has launched a controversial "wife school" that charges customers £330 to learn how to dress modestly and "submit" to their husbands. Laura Zachary, 36, established the Marriage Academy after her husband of two months, Zion, 33, a pastor, observed how her treatment of him helps build him up and support his ambitions.

From Relationship Coach to Traditional Wife

Laura left her position as a relationship coach after the pair wed in December 2025 and now identifies as a "trad wife" – short for "traditional wife." She champions 1950s-style gender roles, focusing on being a submissive homemaker while her husband goes out to work. Laura believes men should take charge and claims her life is now "stress free" as Zion makes all the decisions.

She says her online course has received a positive response so far and insists it is helping to "save marriages." Zion is the sole earner, taking responsibility for bills and finances, while Laura cooks, cleans, and runs her wife school as a passion project.

The Philosophy Behind the Wife School

Stay-at-home wife Laura, from the New Forest, Hampshire, explained her beliefs: "I believe that being a wife is a very important role in relationships. For me, it means that you are here to help your husband become what God has called for him to become. I believe that men can only go so far without a wife, and that a wife amplifies and multiplies everything that the man can be."

She added: "A lot of women will criticise their husbands and put their husbands down, whereas it's important to me that we use our voices to uplift our husbands to encourage them to achieve what they want to achieve. The role of the husband is to lead the family. He provides for me. He protects me. I feel very safe. I don't have to worry or stress about things that are going on the world, and I completely trust any decision that he makes."

Course Content and Structure

The wife school comprises seven pre-recorded videos, available to purchase for £330, with classes covering 'the purpose of marriage', 'being a submissive wife', and 'modesty and dressing for your husband'. She also runs in-person sessions at her own home, where she lays on afternoon tea and sandwiches for those attending.

Laura only launched her course in February 2026, but she said she has already had a number of people purchase it and has got a positive response so far. "I get lots of messages from women saying 'I've watched your videos, and now I baked my husband bread' or 'we were having problems and now we've resolved them' - it's saving marriages," she said.

Personal Journey and Inspiration

Laura and Zion, hailing from Croydon, London, first crossed paths in September 2025, when she featured as a guest on his faith-based podcast, Zion Age. The pair instantly felt a connection, and just three months later they tied the knot in December 2025. "As soon as we met we instantly knew we were going to be together, so we got married very quickly," she said.

Since their marriage, Laura allows her husband to make all the decisions - including managing their finances and organising outings - something she says she relishes, as it has removed the burden of stress from her life. Prior to getting married, she worked a nine-to-five role educating people about relationships, which she said left her feeling burnt out.

"A lot of women have health problems, and it's all due to stress," she claimed. "My husband has created a life where I don't have to stress, because he takes charge of things." These days, she simply posts a "couple of reels" on her social media channels each week and runs her wife school - consisting entirely of pre-recorded classes, meaning she has very little work to do.

"I just get to take care of the home, make clothes, bake cakes and host events," she said. Zion encouraged Laura to establish her "wife school" after observing how significantly his own life had transformed following their marriage. "He said 'why don't you teach women how you are as a wife?' - it's really about helping people's marriages," she explained.

Laura intends to continue developing her course going forward and is keen to host further in-person events.
