Police are treating the death of a woman who was caught up in a high-profile love triangle as unexplained. Sarah Aspin was found deceased at an address on Primrose Hill Drive in the Swillington area of Leeds on Saturday morning, February 7th.
Connection to music star Amy Winehouse
Sarah Aspin was in a relationship with Blake Fielder-Civil following the breakdown of his marriage to the late music icon Amy Winehouse. In a notable incident, she had previously cautioned Amy to keep her hands off Blake, asserting he is mine and we are a family now. Forensic officers remained on site from Saturday morning until Sunday evening, with a solitary bouquet of flowers placed at the front door. Following Amy Winehouse's death in 2011, Sarah Aspin spoke emotionally about the impact on Blake Fielder-Civil, who was detained at Armley Prison at the time. She described visiting him in a private room, where he endured relentless bouts of sobbing over Amy's death and his inability to prevent it.
Fighting back tears, Sarah said, He is devastated and shattered. He just can't take it in that she's dead and he'll never see her again. She acknowledged the deep love between Blake and Amy, stating, I know they were really in love and they were soulmates, while also understanding his enduring feelings.
