Birmingham's iconic chocolate attraction, Cadbury World, has revealed a spectacular new creation just in time for the Easter season. The attraction has produced what is being called the world's largest 'mini egg' - a giant chocolate masterpiece weighing an impressive 55 kilograms.
From Creme Egg to Mini Egg: The Evolution of Giant Chocolate Creations
Following the tremendous success of last year's world-record Cadbury Creme Egg, the expert chocolatiers at Cadbury World sought a new challenge for 2026. After receiving numerous requests from devoted Cadbury fans for a giant version of another beloved treat, the team decided to create what they've dubbed the "Mega Mini Egg."
The creation process was meticulous and time-consuming, with chocolatiers Claire Fielding, Dawn Jenks, and Donna Pitt dedicating two full days to crafting the enormous egg entirely by hand. Their careful work has resulted in a chocolate marvel that stands 70 centimetres tall - approximately the height of a small child - and weighs about the same as an adult cheetah.
Authentic Details on a Giant Scale
The Mega Mini Egg maintains all the distinctive characteristics of the original Cadbury Mini Eggs, just on a much larger scale. The giant egg features the same pastel pink sugar shell with delicate speckles that chocolate lovers recognize instantly. Inside, it contains the same creamy chocolate center that has made Mini Eggs an Easter staple across Britain for generations.
Chocolatier Claire Fielding expressed her excitement about the project, stating, "After the amazing reaction to last year's gigantic Cadbury Creme Egg, we knew we had to craft something just as fantastic for 2026. Cadbury Mini Eggs are another absolute favourite and a British Easter staple, so creating the Mega Mini Egg felt like the perfect next challenge."
Fielding continued, "We took that instantly recognisable shell and chocolate centre and scaled it up into a real showstopper. It's been so rewarding seeing it come to life, and we can't wait for visitors to come and see it in person this Easter."
Easter Celebrations at Cadbury World
The Mega Mini Egg will be on display at Cadbury World in Bournville, Birmingham throughout the Easter period, beginning on March 30. Visitors will have the opportunity to see this chocolate marvel up close and marvel at its impressive size and craftsmanship.
In addition to the giant egg display, Cadbury World is offering a special Easter show titled "Freddo's Egg-Cellent Easter." This family-friendly production features magic, music, laughter, and audience participation, running from March 28 through April 12.
