A man has been charged following the alleged theft of a mural from a wall in Sutton Coldfield, Birmingham. The incident occurred on Birmingham Road in the town centre at approximately 6am on Thursday, 24 April, according to West Midlands Police.
Adam Howe, 45, from Birmingham, was due to appear before magistrates at the city's court charged with theft. The charge comes after officers tracked a suspect onto a bus following the incident.
Arrest and Recovery
Police said they were called to the scene early on Thursday morning after receiving reports that the mural had been removed from the wall. Officers quickly located a suspect who had boarded a bus, and a man was arrested on College Road a short time later. The stolen mural was subsequently recovered.
A spokesperson for West Midlands Police said: “A man has been charged after a mural was stolen from a wall in Sutton Coldfield town centre. Adam Howe, 45, from Birmingham, was due before the city’s Magistrates Court charged with theft.”
