Thornton Hough Comedy Club Returns with a Tasty Line-Up and Pre-Show Pie

This Friday, April 10, marks the much-anticipated return of the Thornton Hough Comedy Club, promising an evening of top-tier laughter and delicious pre-show treats. Hosted by DBN Events at the intimate Thornton Hough Village Club, the professional night of comedy will showcase four acclaimed comedians from the UK circuit, with attendees receiving a warm-up in the form of a tasty pie.

Star-Studded Comedy Line-Up

The event is headlined by the incredible Steve Gribbin, a veteran performer with over 8,000 gigs on both UK and international comedy circuits. Known as the musical maestro, Gribbin brings his signature blend of biting topical satire and high-energy guitar comedy to the stage. His scathingly satirical style, often described as that of a 'Scouse song-thrush,' skillfully skewers topical idiocies, making him one of the most in-demand acts in the business. As the Liverpool ECHO raves, he is 'guaranteed to make you laugh till you dribble.'

Opening the show is Dawn Bailey, celebrated for her relatable humour and down-to-earth comedic approach. The BBC has praised her, noting 'she’s a very funny lady.' Support comes from Josh Sedman, who earned the Cat ‘n’ Stick New Comedian of the Year award in 2023. Hosting the evening is quick-fire gag merchant Ben Turner, a finalist in both the World One Liner Championship and Comedy Cellar Yorkshire New Act of the Year. Critics have lauded Turner as 'the highlight of the evening' and noted he 'performs with the intensity of a dancing crab.'

Organiser's Vision and Ticket Details

The comedy nights at Thornton Hough Village Club & Bar are the brainchild of actor and Wirral resident Dean Boodaghians-Nolan, known for roles in TV series like House of the Dragon. Dean expressed excitement about the event, stating, 'The calibre of acts we are attracting from the UK comedy scene to our lovely, intimate venue is mind-blowing, and we are hopeful of another full house this Friday.' Due to high demand, organisers have released extra special £10 early bird tickets, while standard tickets with a yummy pie (including a veggie option) cost just £15 plus booking fee, and normal tickets without food are £12 plus booking fee.

With a full house expected, this comedy night promises to be a memorable blend of humour and hospitality in the heart of Wirral.
