Some 7,500 Aston Villa fans are expected to flock to Birmingham city centre tonight as the Utilita Arena hosts a sold-out fan park for the Europa League Final. While countless Brummies celebrate in Istanbul, home supporters are gearing up for a massive night in the city's second biggest gig venue.
Fan Park Details
Unai Emery's team is in Istanbul preparing for the club's first European final in 44 years. The Utilita Arena, eclipsed only by Villa Park Stadium in capacity, will show the match on over 100 metres of giant LED screens when the game kicks off at 8pm. Organisers 4 The Fans promised an unforgettable experience after moving the event from Luna Springs, which had its licence temporarily suspended. Luna Springs has since reopened and will host its own fan park tonight.
Ticket Demand
The demand for tickets has been described as 'unbelievable', with a full house confirmed. A statement from the organiser read: 'We cannot wait for Wednesday Night. The demand has been truly unbelievable. It's a full house - the biggest FanPark in Birmingham! All the important event information will be with you shortly, so you can plan for the biggest event in 44 years! It's going to be special.'
For those who purchased tickets for the Luna Springs event, the organiser urged: 'If you haven't received your tickets yet - DON'T PANIC, YOU WILL GET YOUR TICKET! We are working at top speed with the venue. Your tickets are on the way and will arrive before the event (please make sure to check your junk mail folder and open any emails from 4 The Fans ASAP).'
To avoid confusion, it was clarified that the 4 The Fans Europa League Final fan park has moved to the Utilita Arena and is not associated with any event at Luna Springs. The statement concluded: 'Looking forward to a massive night - up the Villa!'
Additional Fan Parks
Just across Broad Street, iconic venue Snobs has also completely sold out its fan park, indicating the overwhelming enthusiasm among Villa supporters for the historic final.
