Anwyl Homes Supports Chorlton Arts Festival with Festive Bunting
The streets of Chorlton will be adorned with vibrant new bunting during the upcoming spring arts festival, thanks to generous support from homebuilder Anwyl Homes. The Chorlton Civic Society utilized funding from the 'Love from Anwyl' community fund to purchase these colorful decorations, which will be displayed throughout the village from May 8th to 21st for the Chorlton Arts Festival.
Enhancing Community Spirit and Festive Atmosphere
The investment from Anwyl Homes has allowed organizers to replace worn-out bunting and increase the number of decorations across the neighbourhood. This initiative aims to build excitement and enhance the sense of community pride that the festival has long inspired. Carolyn Kagan, secretary of Chorlton Civic Society and chair of the Chorlton Arts Festival, expressed her gratitude, stating that the bunting adds colour and gaiety to streets and venues, creating a joyful atmosphere that invites participation.
She emphasized that this support helps deliver an experience for both residents and visitors, enhancing wellbeing and fostering local community pride. The Chorlton Arts Festival, held every spring, is one of the area's most significant cultural celebrations. In 2025, it hosted an impressive 162 events across 52 venues, offering a diverse range of activities including live music, visual arts, theatre workshops, and family-friendly events.
Community Fund Details and Broader Impact
The 'Love from Anwyl Chorlton' fund is a £5,000 voluntary community fund made available to local charities and community groups by Anwyl Homes as part of its Dalton Fields development. Phoebe Davies, head of regional marketing at Anwyl Homes, highlighted that the fund was launched to support projects making a positive difference in the area. She noted that the Chorlton Arts Festival is a wonderful celebration of creativity and community spirit, and Anwyl Homes is proud to contribute to enhancing the atmosphere for all participants.
This collaboration underscores the importance of corporate-community partnerships in enriching local cultural events. The new bunting not only beautifies the village but also symbolizes the ongoing commitment to fostering a vibrant and inclusive community environment during the festival period.
