Birmingham Beach's opening has been delayed by just one day, with the popular summer attraction now set to welcome visitors on Saturday, July 18. Organisers Danter Attractions had planned to open on Friday, July 17, but announced the postponement to ensure everything is perfect for guests.
New Location and Free Entry
This year, Birmingham Beach has moved to Digbeth High Street, after previous stints at Smithfield and Pype Hayes Park in Erdington. Entry remains free, with visitors only paying for rides, food, and drinks. The event is expected to run daily from 1pm until late, through to the Bank Holiday Monday on August 31.
Delay Announcement
A spokesman for Danter Attractions said: "Birmingham Beach is still being built and prepared to make it perfect for all of our guests, and unfortunately will not be open until Saturday, 18th July. We sincerely apologise for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your patience and understanding. We’re looking forward to welcoming everyone on Saturday for a fantastic time! Thank you for your continued support, and we’ll see you all on Saturday, 18th July!"
Attractions and Amenities
The beach will feature a large sandy area lined with deckchairs and beach huts, along with fairground rides like the Bugs & Bees mini rollercoaster and a helter skelter. Stalls will sell sweets, slushies, ice cream, coffee, doughnuts, and candy floss. Parents have expressed excitement on social media, with one commenting: "Looks amazing. Beach in Brum perfect!" and another adding: "Mommy and kids day out I believe is due!"
Convenient Access
Parking is available in Digbeth, and the site is a short walk from New Street and Moor Street train stations. Danter Attractions also runs the Christmas Big Wheel and Ice Skate Birmingham in Centenary Square, as well as Christmas in Cathedral Square.
