Three Birmingham Pubs to Host Free Pint Event for Peaky Blinders Film Launch
In an exciting promotion tied to the release of the new Netflix film Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man, three historic Birmingham pubs will offer patrons a complimentary drink next week. The event, scheduled for Saturday, 28th March, invites fans to immerse themselves in a 1940s-inspired Peaky Blinders experience.
How to Claim Your Free Drink
To secure a free pint or other beverage, visitors simply need to utter the iconic phrase: "By order of the Peaky Blinders". This special bar tab will be available from midday at the participating venues, which include The Old Crown, The Good Intent, and Hare & Hounds. These establishments are among ten independent pubs nationwide selected by Netflix to celebrate the film's launch.
1940s Theme and Limited-Edition Merchandise
Each pub will embrace a 1940s Peaky Blinders-inspired atmosphere, complete with:
- Limited-edition merchandise
- Flat caps available for guests
- Encouragement for attendees to dress in Peaky-style outfits, though it is not required
This initiative highlights the central role of the 'local' pub in British culture, as depicted in the Peaky Blinders series. Netflix aims to support these community hubs, offering fans a chance to gather and toast the legendary Tommy Shelby.
Participating Pubs and Their Statements
The Old Crown, located on High Street in Deritend, has served Birmingham for over 650 years. Matt Deakin, a representative, expressed enthusiasm: "We are delighted to celebrate one of the city's most iconic stories in our historic home. Our pub has seen centuries of history, and we’re looking forward to blending our heritage with the high-energy atmosphere of the 1940s for this special occasion."
The Good Intent, situated in Great Western Arcade, is the UK's first not-for-profit pub. General Manager Haig Loveitt noted: "Our locals often say The Good Intent has a 'Peaky Blinders feel' to it. This activation is an opportunity to engage and support the passionate Peaky Blinders fan base at the heart of our community." Profits from the pub support local charities like Birmingham Hospice and Love Brum.
Hare & Hounds, a Grade II listed pub in King’s Heath, was once scouted as a filming location for the series. Owner Adam Regan shared: "Our pub feels like stepping straight into the world of this beloved series. It’s incredible to now be part of celebrating Peaky Blinders’ final chapter here in Birmingham - where it all began."
