The Art Quarter on Allison Street in Digbeth will unveil its new sports fan zone on Saturday, July 11, just in time for England's FIFA World Cup 2026 quarter-final against Norway. The venue will also screen the Wimbledon Women's Final earlier that day.
Inclusive Features and Community Focus
The family-friendly fan zone includes a massive screen, a dedicated Halal food hall, and prayer rooms, ensuring accessibility for all. A South Asian Desi event will take place between the two screenings, celebrating the city's diverse culture.
Jordan Patel, founder of Art Quarter, said: "Football has always been about more than football. At its best, it creates shared experiences, starts conversations and brings people together who might otherwise never meet. We wanted to create a space that genuinely reflects modern Birmingham."
Council Support and Future Plans
The project is supported by Birmingham City Council. Councillor Deborah Harries, cabinet member for culture, commented: "We're delighted with England's progress so far in this World Cup, and wish Thomas Tuchel and his team best of luck as they prepare for their Quarter Final against Norway on Saturday. Major sporting events bring people from the city's diverse communities together – and this new Digbeth fan zone will offer a more inclusive experience."
Beyond the World Cup, Patel plans to use the venue for boxing, cricket, Formula One, and community screenings, aiming to make it a permanent hub for sport and culture in Birmingham. The Art Quarter is located at 11-15 Allison Street, Digbeth, B5 5TH.
