Families are invited to enjoy a fun-filled day out in Caistor as a free Family Activity Day comes to the town on Sunday, May 17. Organised by Caistor Arts and Heritage Centre as part of the Lincolnshire Wolds Outdoor Festival, the event will feature children's entertainment, activities, competitions, street food, and live music throughout the day.
Viking Way Anniversary
This year's theme for the Lincolnshire Wolds Outdoor Festival celebrates 50 years of the Viking Way. With this historic walking route passing directly through the town, Caistor offers the perfect place to join the celebrations. Viking fancy dress is encouraged for attendees.
Event Details
The Caistor Activity Day will take place at South Street Park, LN7 6LP, on Sunday, May 17, from 10am to 4pm. Visitors can also enjoy organised walks, including the Caistor Tree Trail.
Caistor Tree Trail
This guided stroll around the historic market town highlights 20 different species of trees, with opportunities to learn how to identify them, explore their traditional uses, discover their benefits to wildlife, and uncover the folklore associated with them. The walk takes place from 10am to 12.30pm, meeting at Caistor Arts and Heritage Centre. It costs £2 per person to cover insurance costs.
History Walk
History lovers can explore Caistor's past with a guided walk titled "From Romans through Georgians and Victorians – what makes Caistor unique?" This walk through the Conservation Area takes in centuries of change, revealing Roman heritage, Georgian influence, and Victorian pride. It takes place from 2pm to 3.30pm, meeting in Caistor Market Place. The walk costs £2 per person to cover insurance costs.

Caistor Activity Day is organised by Caistor Arts & Heritage Centre in partnership with Caistor Goes and with the support of volunteers from Caistor Arts & Heritage Centre, Caistor and District Lions, and 1st Grasby Scouts.
