Free family-friendly outdoor cinema and activities are now available at NEC Lakeside, running from May to August. Opening this weekend, the venue will host an outdoor cinema with regular screenings, a children's play area, an activity trail, and picnic seating, alongside a selection of food and drink vendors.
Location and Opening Times
NEC Lakeside is situated at Pendigo Lake, between the main NEC Birmingham venue complex, Resorts World Birmingham, and the Hilton Hotel. The lakeside area will be open from Saturday, May 9 until the end of August.
Free Fun for All
All of these Lakeside activities are expected to be free, aiming to entertain families in the Birmingham area. Organizers have shared that they hope this space will provide families with a place to relax. The launch coincides with a major spring and summer programme at the NEC, bringing together a number of family experiences.
These include Peppa Pig Space Adventure, iFLY, Gladiators Experience, Tutankhamun, Titanic, and more. Deputy CEO of the NEC, Sarah Harvey, stated: "This summer represents an exciting step in how we're continuing to evolve the NEC experience. We're bringing together an incredible range of attractions for families and, as part of our NEC Built for your Summer programme, creating even more reasons to visit across the season. With the addition of NEC Lakeside, we're also able to offer a free space where people can spend time together and make the most of their visit."
