The Sandwell Summer Festival, a free day-long event, will take place on Saturday, August 1, 2026, from 11am to 5pm at Sandwell Valley Country Park in West Bromwich. While admission is free, all attendees must book tickets in advance.
What to Expect at the Festival
The festival offers a wide range of activities including live music performances, play zones, stalls, sports activities, and a food village. It coincides with 'Blind Dave' Heeley's Colour Run, where participants get doused with color at six stations (fees apply for the run).
A spokesperson for the event stated: "Get ready for a full day of fun, laughter and community spirit at the Sandwell Summer Festival! In celebration of National Playday, we’re bringing together an amazing mix of activities, entertainment and experiences for children, young people and families to enjoy. Whether you’re getting active, enjoying live entertainment or simply soaking up the atmosphere, there’s something for everyone. This is a free event, but booking is essential."
Activities and Attractions
The festival lineup includes Blind Dave’s Colour Run (separate registration required), the National Playday Zone, live stage performances, sports field activities, theatre shows, the SHAPE Youth Zone, a food village, and the Meet Sandwell Hub. Additionally, visitors can explore the adventure playground, woodland, and meadows within the country park.
