The Liverpool Book Festival is making its return this weekend, promising a vibrant blend of literature, art, music, and family entertainment in the city's Baltic Triangle. Now in its third year, the event will take over BoxPark Liverpool at Cains Brewery Village on Sunday, August 2, from 11am to 5pm.
Meet Dozens of Local Writers
More than 60 authors from the region will be selling and signing their books directly to attendees, offering a rare chance to discover local literary talent. The event also features art stalls, live music, and food vendors, creating a festival atmosphere that goes beyond a traditional book fair.
Entertainment for All Ages
Younger readers will find dedicated activities to keep them engaged during the school holidays, including storytelling sessions and interactions with costumed characters. Throughout the day, visitors can enjoy short film screenings and live talks, making it a full day of cultural entertainment.
Organiser Justin Hopper expressed his excitement: "I'm really excited for this third Liverpool Book Festival event and they just keep getting better! The feedback is always fantastic — with guests, authors, traders and entertainers all loving it! It's a concept that blends a traditional book fair with a festival — with loads going on throughout the day and something for everyone from book lovers to families."

Hopper emphasised the festival's role in showcasing regional authors: "The region has some truly brilliant authors and Liverpool Book Festival is an opportunity to meet them in person and buy from them directly. It's also a great networking opportunity and a platform for artisan traders, musicians and entertainers."
In addition to promoting local talent, the event supports charitable causes. Hopper noted, "I'll also be giving back to charity again — with Mersey Mind Project and Reverse North West to benefit from this event. I can't wait for another amazing event!"
