Loughborough by the Sea, the popular beach-themed event, is returning to Charnwood for a full week of free family fun. Organised by Charnwood Borough Council’s markets team, in partnership with Love Loughborough BID and I Need a Fun Fair, the event will transform Market Place into a vibrant seaside destination from Monday, August 17 to Sunday, August 23.
What to Expect at the Event
Every day from 10am to 4pm, families can enjoy plenty of sand, children’s funfair rides, and a bouncy castle right in the heart of the town centre. Traditional market stalls and live entertainment will also be available throughout the week, ensuring there’s something for everyone.
Expanded Format for 2026
This year, the event has been expanded from previous shorter runs to a full week, offering more opportunities for residents and visitors to enjoy the seaside atmosphere. Cllr Jennifer Tillotson, the council's lead member for housing, economic development, regeneration and town centres, said: “Loughborough by the Sea has become a popular event in our town centre, bringing families together and creating a fantastic atmosphere for residents and visitors alike. By extending the event to a full week this year, we’re giving even more people the opportunity to enjoy the attractions, entertainment and seaside fun while supporting our local businesses and market traders.”
