Northfield Beach has returned to Victoria Common in Birmingham for the summer of 2026, bringing four days of free family entertainment. The event, organised by Northfield Community Partnership, opened on Thursday, July 23 and runs until Sunday, July 26.
Free Activities for All Ages
Victoria Common has been transformed into a beach-themed attraction featuring arts and crafts, theatre, circus acts, live music, and performances. The park also offers a playground, outdoor gym, football pitch, and open fields for games and picnics. Admission is free.
A spokesperson for Northfield Community Partnership said: "Northfield Beach is back. For four fantastic days, Victoria Common will be transformed into a FREE beach including arts and crafts, live music, performances, and activities for all ages."
Access and Parking
Visitors can access the site via Church Road. Parking is available on Church Road and at Northfield Shopping Centre, which also provides direct access to the park. The location is well-served by bus routes.
Event History and Funding
The event has been a summer staple for over a decade, bringing together families and friends. However, in 2024 it was cancelled due to a lack of funding. A crowdfunding campaign was launched to revive it. Rebecca Debenham, CEO of Northfield Community Partnership, said at the time: "We know how disappointed many families were last year that we were unable to bring you the beach. This year, we need your support to help bring the beach back! Please consider donating to our funding appeal. No matter how small your donation is, it will help us make sure we can bring the Beach back. Let’s work together to ensure this much-loved tradition returns! Thank you."
Last year's event ran successfully, and the 2026 edition is now underway, offering a full weekend of free entertainment for the community.
