New Civic Celebration Honours Volunteers and Local Legend
Nottingham City Council will hold its inaugural Lord Mayor's Day at Nottingham Castle on Sunday, August 2, offering a low-cost entry fee of just £2 per person to make the event accessible to everyone. Civic leaders will open the gates at 11am, inviting visitors to explore a medieval encampment where they can meet Robin Hood and his famous outlaws. Families can try archery, enjoy live music from local bands on the bandstand, and participate in storytelling sessions, dragon-making workshops, and face painting throughout the day.
The event is designed to celebrate Nottingham's rich history, vibrant cultural scene, and the invaluable contributions of volunteers and community organisations.
