However, the beach is not open every day, so visitors must check the schedule before setting out.

Beach Facilities and Activities

The 140-metre-long sandy beach features a lake for swimming and paddling, with lifeguards on duty and a cafe on site. It is free to enter, with parking charges applicable. Families can enjoy building sandcastles, sunbathing, beach games, and even barbecues. Additional paid attractions include an aqua park, laser tag, and mini golf.

Opening Times for 2026

The beach operates on a seasonal schedule. From 23 May to 31 May, it is open daily from 12pm to 5pm. From 1 June to 28 June, it is closed Monday to Friday but open weekends from 12pm to 5pm. From 29 June to 17 July, it opens Monday to Friday 12pm to 5pm and weekends 10am to 6pm. From 18 July to 31 August, it is open daily from 10am to 6pm. From 1 September to 20 September, it reverts to weekend-only opening from 12pm to 5pm. After 20 September, the beach is closed for the season.

Rutland Water Beach is located at Sykes Lane, Empingham, Leicestershire, LE15 8QL. By car, it takes approximately 90 minutes from Birmingham via the M6, depending on traffic. By train, take a service from Birmingham New Street to Stamford Station, then a taxi to the beach.
