Tameside Council has unveiled an extensive school holiday programme featuring a pop-up beach, outdoor theatre performances, and dozens of free or low-cost community events across Greater Manchester this summer. The seasonal guide aims to keep children of all ages entertained in local parks and public spaces over the coming weeks.
Outdoor Theatre and Daily Performances
Classic theatre stories will be brought to life in the borough with two performance slots scheduled daily at 11am and 2pm. Families can also participate in hands-on arts and crafts workshops hosted in various regional green spaces. A dedicated heritage celebration will take place at a local museum alongside regular playtime sessions throughout the school holidays.
Family Arts Jam and Returning Favorites
The day-long Family Arts Jam will feature a diverse group of experienced artists to spark creativity and imagination in visitors. Organisers will also bring back the popular artificial seaside attraction to Stalybridge, alongside the area's regular street festivals and artisan markets.

Councillor Leanne Feeley, Executive Member for Lifelong Learning and Culture for Tameside Council, said: “It’s great to see such an exciting programme for residents and visitors to enjoy throughout the summer. Our teams do a wonderful job planning such a varied and engaging range of events, and we want as many people as possible to come along and get involved.”
