Telford's historic waterside amphitheatre has been restored to its former glory, with tickets now on sale for its first series of events. The venue, situated on the banks of the River Severn, will host a range of performances this summer, including theatre, music, and community gatherings.

The restoration project, which cost £1.2 million, began in early 2023 and was completed in April 2024. Work included repairing the stone seating, upgrading the stage, and improving accessibility with new ramps and pathways. According to Telford and Wrekin Council, the restoration was funded by a combination of council funds and a £500,000 grant from the National Lottery Heritage Fund. Tickets for the inaugural events went on sale on 1 May 2024. The opening weekend, scheduled for 15-16 June, will feature a Shakespearean play by a local theatre company, followed by a live music concert on 22 June. More than 500 tickets have already been sold for the first weekend, with prices ranging from £10 to £25.
The amphitheatre can accommodate up to 800 people, with a mix of fixed seating and lawn space. Organisers expect the venue to attract visitors from across the West Midlands, boosting local tourism.
