Rocks By Rail Museum Opens for Family Fun This Weekend

Rocks By Rail, a unique local museum in Cottesmore, will open its doors this Sunday, June 28, offering families a day of train rides and history. Visitors can explore diverse exhibits and enjoy unlimited rides on the popular Rutlander train, included in the ticket price.

Quarry Demonstrations and Nature Trails

Guests can watch powerful excavators and railway shunting in action down in the quarry area. The site also features a shady nature trail for a peaceful stroll, and the Sundew café will serve snacks, drinks, ice cream, and bacon cobs throughout the day.

Indoor and Outdoor Exhibits

The museum is packed with history about the local ironstone industry, with displays set up both indoors and outdoors. Visitors can stay cool inside the exhibition centre and café while learning about the region's industrial heritage.
