Opening the event, Sarah Olney praised the resilience and innovation of Asian restaurants across the UK. In a keynote address, Rushanara Ali emphasised the sector's national importance, stating that the industry contributes "£4 billion to the economy" and plays a major cultural role across Britain.

Owned by Parul Islam and led by founder and head chef Kamrul Islam, Achari Indian Kitchen is known for bringing together Indian, Bangladeshi, and British Indian culinary traditions, blending heritage flavours with innovation and a contemporary dining experience.

The recognition follows the restaurant's previous award success at the House of Lords in Westminster in 2025, further strengthening its growing national reputation.

Kamrul Islam said: "We are honoured to receive this recognition and proud to represent Bristol on a national stage. Our aim has always been to celebrate traditional South Asian flavours while bringing creativity and innovation to every dish we serve, while also ensuring excellent value for our local community."
