MAFS Australia's Steven Danyluk Looks Unrecognisable in Resurfaced Old Photos
Old photographs of Married at First Sight Australia participant Steven Danyluk have recently surfaced on social media, revealing a strikingly different appearance from his current clean-shaven TV persona. The images, which date back several years, show Steven during his time as a drummer in a dark rock'n'roll band, sporting a look that contrasts sharply with how viewers know him today.
From Rock Star to Reality TV Groom
Steven Danyluk, who describes himself as a "goofball" seeking a wife to share laughter with, was matched on the show with Rachel Gilmore for her big personality and love of humor. However, the resurfaced photos showcase a past life far removed from his current reality TV image. During his tenure with the band Kvlts of Vice, which ended in 2019, Steven embraced a classic rock aesthetic.
- Jet black hair
- Nose and lip piercings
- Nail varnish
- Rock-and-roll eye makeup
Since leaving the music scene, his style has continuously evolved, experimenting with bleached blonde hair, shoulder-length looks, and various beard styles. Currently, MAFS audiences recognize him with a shorter haircut and clean-shaven face, marking a significant departure from his earlier rock star days.
Personal Reflections on Transformation
In his audition tape for the show, Steven reflected on his "metal head" past, admitting he could no longer maintain that look, stating, "I can't rock it anymore, I'm out of it now and getting old." Beyond his style change, Steven has also openly discussed a weight transformation, revealing feelings of being "sour" when he believed his larger size hindered romantic attention.
He expressed, "I'm a little bit sour on the fact that when I was bigger, I just got no attention." Although he underwent intense dieting and training hoping for more attention, he ultimately felt this effort didn't authentically represent his true self. His show wife, Rachel, was deeply moved and upset upon hearing about these past struggles during the program.
The resurfaced images and Steven's candid revelations provide a fuller picture of his journey, highlighting both physical and personal transformations that have shaped his path to appearing on Married at First Sight Australia.
