Disney and Pixar have announced that Capital Breakfast radio hosts Jordan North and Sian Welby are joining the voice cast of the upcoming animated film 'Toy Story 5'. The highly anticipated movie is set to hit cinemas on June 19, 2026, just one month after this exciting revelation.
New Characters in the Toy Story Universe
Jordan North will voice a character named 'Garden Gnome', while Sian Welby will bring to life 'Inflatable Flamingo'. These new toys will join the beloved returning cast, which includes Tom Hanks as Woody, Tim Allen as Buzz Lightyear, Joan Cusack as Jessie, and many more familiar voices.
The Plot: Toy Meets Tech
In this fifth installment, the toys face a new challenge: the rise of technology. They will come face-to-face with a new character named 'Lilypad', voiced by Greta Lee, whose screen time is interfering with playtime. The story promises to explore the clash between traditional toys and digital entertainment.
Both North and Welby expressed their excitement about being part of the franchise. Sian Welby said: "The characters and world of Toy Story have formed such an iconic part of so many people's childhoods, including mine, so being part of the journey has been a dream come true!"
