The cast of the latest series of Love Island includes a model from Birmingham and an electrician from Dudley, among other hopefuls looking for romance. The popular ITV2 dating show returns on Monday, June 1, with a new group of contestants entering the famous villa.
Birmingham Model Samraj
Samraj, a 25-year-old model from Birmingham, is one of the contestants. When asked about his approach, he said: "Without sounding arrogant, in the outside world, I don't really chase that much, I'm used to girls coming to me. I know in the Villa it's a different dynamic. In the beginning, I'm not going to be pushing myself out there, I'm just gonna watch and see who I like and then go from there."
Dudley Electrician Samuel
Samuel, also 25, is an electrician from Dudley who will be joining Samraj in the villa.
Other Contestants
The 13th series, hosted by Maya Jama, features a diverse lineup including a quantity surveyor and DJ, a student from Barbados, and a detective. Among the other contestants:
- Robyn, 21, from Liverpool, who describes her type as "tall, fair, muscles, nice teeth, pretty boy" but emphasizes personality: "I'm more into personality, though, they've got to make me laugh, be charming and have good manners."
- Lorenzo, 28, a business owner from Hertfordshire, who says his type is "traditionally blonde" and admits a peculiar attraction to arms: "I quite like a posh girl. One feature I look at is a girl's arms, I don't know why. It's really strange! Imagine like a Jessica Alba or an Angelina Jolie kind of arm and neck, I find that very elegant. Very niche, I know!"
- Mica, 21, a student originally from Barbados but living in London, who said she would be turned off by a "really egotistical, cringey man" and added: "That's not my vibe at all. I can't have someone who's more into themselves than they are me. They need to be obsessed with me."
- Lola, 25, a detective from Kent, who said: "I like someone who is smart who can teach me things. I like book smart but even if they're not book smart, I like someone who is like actually teaching me stuff."
- Angelista, 24, a nurse from Staffordshire, looking for "a listener and a doer" and explained: "You can't just be listening and not doing! Someone that puts actions behind words and is patient."
Also joining the lineup are primary school teacher Sean, 25, from Galway, and videographer Ellie, 24, from West Lothian.
Love Island returns on Monday, June 1, at 9pm on ITV2 and ITVX.
