First Look at New Mega Greggs in Birmingham City Centre Station
New Mega Greggs Opens at Birmingham New Street Station

A new Greggs store has opened at Birmingham New Street station, and it is significantly larger than the previous outlet. The bakery chain has relocated to a new unit in the former premises of Boots on the ground floor, situated next door to its old shop.

The move brings added benefits for customers, including a wider selection of products and seating space, allowing passengers to enjoy a sausage roll and coffee while resting before their train.

Prime Location

The new store is positioned in a prime location on the main concourse, just beyond the ticket barriers near platforms one to four. It opened this weekend, with customers already pictured tucking into food on April 25.

The previous grab-and-go shop, located near the Stephenson Street entrance, had a sign informing customers: 'Our bags are packed. We're moving: next door'.

Growing Food Scene at the Station

This is the latest food shop opening at the busy station, which recorded 36 million passenger entries and exits between 2024 and 2025. A unit by the Bullring side exit, next to Popeyes, has also been transformed into a branch of Taco Bell, marking the first city-centre location for the chain, which already has a branch at Star City.
