Sky TV star Paddy Young has been rushed to hospital after a freak accident involving a samurai sword. The comedian, known for his role on Saturday Night Live UK, took to social media to share the horrifying news, but kept his sense of humor throughout.

The Incident

The 34-year-old comic revealed he cut his finger with a samurai sword, posting photos from his hospital bed and throughout his recovery. He thanked his friend Bebe Ed Horatio for nursing him back to health and Sam for bringing the sword to his home before fleeing when he fainted.

In a humorous update, Paddy said: "Fringe run 90% sold out. Tendon 90% lacerated. Aura 100% lost. Tour selling fast – see u there."

Despite the injury, Paddy appeared in good spirits, smiling in hospital photos with his bandaged hand. Concerned fans flooded the comments with well-wishes. One wrote: "Nooooooooooo!!!!! Hope you will feel better soon, Paddy." Another added: "Man, those compression socks are the worst! Get well soon, Paddy." A third fan remarked: "This is a very chill response to a friend causing you to lose the use of your hand."

SNL UK director Will Farrell joked: "Sam told me he thought the sword wouldn’t have cut you if you were honourable."

Paddy joined the cast of SNL UK alongside Hammed Animashaun, Ayoade Bamgboye, Larry Dean, Celeste Dring, George Fouracres, Ania Magliano, Annabel Marlow, Al Nash, Jack Shep, and Emma Sidi. Despite its controversial launch, the show has been renewed for a second series of 12 episodes, set to air in autumn 2026.

Producer Lorne Michaels, creator of the original US version, said: "I’m incredibly proud of our team and the show. It keeps getting better every week." The original SNL has launched the careers of many famous comedians, including Eddie Murphy, Adam Sandler, and Will Ferrell.
