Peter Kay's stand-up show at Birmingham's Utilita Arena was abruptly cancelled after just 45 minutes, with the comedian reportedly bundled off stage and the venue evacuated. The performance began at 8pm on Friday, May 1, but was cut short at approximately 8.45pm when a member of the production team announced the show would not continue.
Audience members reported no prior warning or explanation for the cancellation. Some attendees claimed they saw police officers inside the arena before the evacuation. The show was part of Kay's national tour, with all profits pledged to 12 leading cancer charities.
