Married At First Sight Australia's Scott McCristal has removed the final traces of his ex-wife Gia Fleur by covering up their matching tattoo. The couple, who appeared on the 2026 season of the show, had gotten inked with the number '13' inside a barbed wire heart to commemorate their one-month wedding anniversary. Now, Scott has transformed the design into an eagle, which he says represents freedom and living life on his own terms.
Scott's Tattoo Transformation
In a TikTok video, Scott documented the process of covering the old tattoo with a new eagle design. He explained, 'How to make a tattoo look even better. This eagle represents something for me. I got it for freedom, living life on my own terms and not being controlled.' He added, 'Sometimes we all make mistakes,' acknowledging the failed relationship and the permanent reminder he once shared with Gia.
The Rise and Fall of Scott and Gia
Scott and Gia started as one of the strongest couples on MAFS 2026, but their relationship unraveled after Feedback Week. Gia's involvement in drama and her fiery temper made it difficult for Scott to express his concerns without fear of conflict. Although Gia confessed her love for Scott, his reluctance to reciprocate the emotion further strained their bond. The couple called it quits before Final Vows and have since moved on to new relationships.
Scott's decision to alter the tattoo marks a symbolic end to his chapter with Gia, embracing a fresh start and personal freedom.
