Step inside Crumb and Play, a 'chic' café located just 25 minutes from Birmingham, set within a restored Dutch barn at a shopping park that was once a working farm. This unique venue offers a role play street with 'consciously-sourced' wooden toys, including a mini café, a kitchen, an ice-cream van, a construction area, and a salon aptly named The Dutch Barn-et. Adjacent to the seating area, a soft play zone features serene pastel colors rather than garish primary brights. Outside, a garden boasts a wooden teepee, a bridge, benches, and a mini kitchen, allowing children to extend their play into fresh air and sunshine.
Designed for Parents and Children
Mum-of-two Rem Bains created Crumb and Play for parents as much as for kids, aiming to provide a space that feels 'a little more elevated'. 'Crumb and Play is just as much a treat for grown-ups as it is for little ones,' she explained. The café offers a range of treats for adults, ensuring a relaxing experience while children play.
What to Expect
Visitors can enjoy a variety of play areas, including a mini café, salon, and construction zone. The soft play area is designed with calming colors, and the outdoor garden provides additional opportunities for exploration.
