Several secondary schools in Birmingham have been identified as the lowest-performing in a newly published league table. The analysis, conducted by the Telegraph, evaluated approximately 3,500 schools across the country based on multiple key factors, resulting in a national ranking from best to worst.
Scoring System
Schools received an overall score out of 40, determined by criteria such as exam results, attendance rates, and class sizes. Based on their scores, institutions were categorised as very good, good, fair, below average, or well below average.
Lowest-Ranked Schools
The worst-performing schools in Birmingham include Bournville School, Star King Solomon Academy, and Waverley Studio College, each receiving a disappointing score of just 12 out of 40. E-ACT Shenley Academy scored slightly higher with 13 out of 40. Notably, Star King Solomon Academy has recently been informed that it is making progress following an Ofsted inspection.

Top Performers
At the other end of the scale, King Edward VI Camp Hill School for Boys was named Birmingham's best school with an outstanding score of 39 out of 40. Its sister school, King Edward VI Camp Hill School for Girls, also achieved an impressive 38 out of 40. Other high-performing institutions include King Edward VI Handsworth Grammar School for Boys, St Paul's School for Girls (both 38), and King Edward VI Five Ways School and King Edward VI Lordswood School for Girls (both 37).
