Brentwood School Unveils New Welcoming Reception Area

A Brentwood primary school is proudly sharing its new welcoming reception area. Hogarth Primary School has been on a journey of transformation over the last couple of years. Having been considered failing by Ofsted in 2023, Discovery Educational Trust and new headteacher Rob Watson were drafted in to bring about change.

Within just two years, the school has shaken off its troubled past, with the seal of approval from inspectors who have now graded the school as Good. Now, the school has cemented its new and improved reputation by installing a statement reception area.

A more prominent and welcoming entrance has now been added, thanks to Government funding. Lauren King, deputy headteacher, said: "We have given the school a facelift. Previously, you could not see what the school was about from the road."

"There is so much going on in our school, but you would not have known that from the outside. In terms of our reputation, this makes us more visible to the community. Just like a house, if it looks dilapidated from outside, you will not want to go inside, even if it is fabulous inside. We now have a lovely welcome area for parents to sit; it is quite an informal place for people to gather, which is so lovely."

"They are greeted by the smiling faces of our reception team - who are fantastic - whose office space now runs alongside the waiting area. This all helps to make our children, families and staff proud of Hogarth." The existing reception area has been turned into a meeting and conference room.
