Nottinghamshire Police are urgently appealing for the driver of a dark coloured vehicle to come forward after they witnessed a fatal collision in which a woman in her 40s was killed.
The woman was walking in Priestsic Road, Sutton-in-Ashfield, when she was involved in a collision with a motorcycle on 14 July. She died at the scene despite the efforts of emergency services.
Witness appeal and released image
Officers have released an image showing a dark coloured vehicle, which is ringed in the picture. They believe the driver of this vehicle witnessed the entire incident or at least part of it, and could hold vital information that could assist with the investigation.
Collision Investigator Georgina Luke, of the Serious Collision Investigation Unit, has made a direct appeal to the driver. She said: "If you are this person, or if you know who this individual may be, we kindly ask that you come forward."
Importance of minor details
Luke stressed that even seemingly insignificant details could prove crucial. "Even if you believe the information you have is minor or insignificant, it could be important in helping us establish a full understanding of the circumstances," she added.
The investigator urged anyone with information to contact Nottinghamshire Police on 101, quoting reference number 0471_14072026.

Police have asked the public to share the appeal widely, and anyone who recognises the vehicle or the driver is encouraged to get in touch. The reference number should be quoted when calling.
The investigation into the fatal collision remains ongoing, and officers are keen to speak to the driver as a potential key witness.
