Specific nominations feature initiatives such as the Nursing and Midwifery Student Voice strategy, which uses creative methods like poetry and QR codes to gather feedback, fostering a strong sense of belonging among students. Additionally, partnerships with organisations like Alder Hey Children's NHS Foundation Trust and Mersey Care NHS Foundation Trust have been recognised for advancing community-based education.
Leadership and Community Impact
Professor Jacqueline Leigh, interim associate dean for student experience, expressed pride in the university's supportive culture, stating, "At Edge Hill, we pride ourselves on a culture of support and excellence, where staff go above and beyond to prepare our students for the frontline of care." She added that the shortlisting honours the dedication of students and staff to the nursing profession.
Colin Johnson, interim dean of the Faculty of Health, Social Care and Medicine, remarked, "While being shortlisted for a single award at the Student Nursing Times Awards is a significant honour, to be shortlisted eight times is a truly phenomenal achievement."
