Birmingham Set to Surpass Ibiza in Temperature as Sunny Spell Continues
Holidaymakers in Ibiza will find cooler conditions than those in Birmingham today, as the Midlands city basks in unseasonably warm weather. Birmingham is forecast to reach highs of around 24°C on Wednesday, April 8, significantly warmer than the Balearic island, which is expected to see temperatures of just 18°C.
Met Office Predicts Fine and Warm Outlook with Upcoming Changes
This follows a stretch of sunny weather across the UK over the Easter Bank Holiday weekend. A Met Office spokesperson indicated that the outlook remains "fine and warm" for now, but cautioned that conditions may become more changeable as the week progresses.
The detailed forecast for today describes a fine and dry day with occasional patchy cloud, particularly in the northwest. It will feel very warm in the sunshine, though conditions may turn hazy later. Light winds are expected throughout, with a maximum temperature of 24°C.
Tonight is predicted to stay mostly clear and dry, with some lower clouds moving into western areas later. Mist and fog may develop in prone spots, but temperatures will remain mild overnight, dropping to a minimum of 10°C.
Weather Shift Expected from Thursday Onwards
Thursday will start warm, but cloud and rain are forecast to move into the west during the morning. This will clear eastwards in the afternoon, leaving cooler and showery weather across the region, with a maximum temperature of 16°C.
The outlook for Friday to Sunday suggests unsettled conditions, with further rain at times, particularly on Saturday. Sunday is expected to turn more showery again, with temperatures returning closer to seasonal averages.
High Pollen Levels Prompt Health Warning
In addition to the temperature forecast, the Met Office has issued a pollen warning set to "very high" for today. Hayfever sufferers are advised to take necessary precautions.
The specific pollen levels include Very High for birch and ash pollen, High for plane pollen, and Moderate for oak pollen. This alert underscores the need for individuals with allergies to manage their exposure during this warm spell.
As Birmingham enjoys this temporary heatwave, residents are encouraged to make the most of the sunny conditions while staying informed about the impending weather changes and health advisories.
