Met Office Issues Amber Heat Warning for Birmingham

The Met Office has issued a new 24-hour amber weather warning for extreme heat across the Midlands, with temperatures expected to reach up to 38°C on Friday, June 26. The warning, in effect from midnight to 11:59 pm, covers the West Midlands, East Midlands, east of England, London and south east England, north west England, and south west England.

Exceptionally Warm Conditions Continue

Forecasters predict 'hot and humid' conditions will persist, with 'exceptionally warm' temperatures both day and night. The amber warning follows a period of sweltering heat that has already affected the region.

Met Office spokesman Grahame Madge stated: "We have issued another amber warning for eastern and central England for Friday. As the forecast continues to evolve we may need to issue further updates once more detail becomes clear."
