The Wildlife Trust for Lancashire, Manchester and North Merseyside (LWT) has launched a brand new podcast to bring the stories of its vital conservation work directly to the public. 'The Conservation Chronicles' will feature in-depth conversations with the people dedicated to protecting the region's natural heritage.
Behind the Scenes with Conservation Experts
Hosted by LWT communications team members Jenny Bennion and Lydia German, the podcast offers an intimate look at the Trust's diverse projects. Listeners will hear from CEO Tom Burditt about his journey into conservation and the day-to-day role of leading a Wildlife Trust. The series also explores the Trust's Nature and Wellbeing service, which supports mental health, and the ongoing efforts of the red squirrel conservation team.
Episodes provide detailed insights into beloved nature reserves like Brockholes in Preston and Lunt Meadows in Sefton, and examine how the Trust supports urban nature in cities such as Manchester and Wigan. Other topics covered include corporate partnerships, peatland restoration, and conservation grazing.
A New Way to Connect with Nature
Jenny Bennion, Senior Communications Officer and co-host, expressed her excitement about the launch. "We’re so excited to be launching the first 12 episodes of The Conservation Chronicles podcast," she said. "It’s a great way to tell everyone about the amazing work that goes on behind the scenes, straight from the people on the ground. It also lets us explain work people might not know about."
All episodes are available to watch as well as listen to, as they are being published on the Lancashire Wildlife Trust YouTube channel. The first three episodes are available now, with new instalments released monthly.

The podcast can be accessed directly via the LWT website or on their YouTube channel.
