Alfred Works Food Hall Opens in Digbeth with 15 Kitchens and Family-Friendly Spaces
Digbeth's massive new food hall, Alfred Works, has officially opened its doors at the Custard Factory, and we've taken an exclusive look inside. Spanning an impressive 17,500 square feet, this culinary destination boasts 15 kitchens, a spacious outdoor courtyard, dedicated family areas, a games zone, and even a photo booth for memorable snaps.
A Culinary Tour of the Vendors
The food hall brings together some of Birmingham's most beloved vendors, offering a global feast for visitors. Esmie's Caribbean Fusion, a staple from the Jewellery Quarter and Digbeth Dining Club, serves up authentic Caribbean street food like boneless jerk chicken and rice. For Greek delights, That Ziki features authentic gyros with 24-hour marinated meat and homemade sauces wrapped in pita breads, alongside Greek salads and chicken tzatziki.
Little Penang transports you to the streets of Penang Island with Malaysian Chinese hawker food, blending Southern Chinese traditions in dishes such as Char Kway Teow, Hainanese Chicken Rice, Wonton Noodle Soup, and Claypot Rice. Clapping Seoul offers Korean street food with a modern fusion twist, while That Kick provides halal Pan‑Asian cuisine inspired by Thailand's Pad Thai and Indonesian satay.
Additional Highlights and Amenities
Other notable vendors include Jimmy's Burgers for classic American fare, Sapore for Italian classics, and Tai Wei for wok-cooked and steamed dishes rooted in culinary tradition.
