Wilton Manor Care Home has raised £901 for Melton Storehouse, a community charity, following a successful summer fundraising afternoon. The event, held at the care home, brought together residents, family members, and neighbours for a day of entertainment and community spirit.
Fundraiser Supports Winter Services
The money raised will support Melton Storehouse as it prepares to help local people through the winter months. The charity operates a foodbank, a warm space, and a free community cafe for residents in the area.
Visitors to the fundraiser enjoyed a wide range of entertainment, including live music, magic tricks, face painting, and a barbecue. A special highlight was the arrival of para-swimmer Andy Banks, who brought a real Olympic torch for guests to hold.
Local Businesses Contribute Prizes
Several local businesses helped make the afternoon a success by donating prizes for a raffle and tombola. The care home chose to support Melton Storehouse because of its vital role in the community, and because residents had previously visited the charity following a harvest festival collection last autumn.
