Veterans Care Home Raises £3,000 at Summer Fayre

Care for Veterans, a care home in Worthing for former service personnel, raised £3,230 during its summer fayre. The funds will support long-term nursing, rehabilitation, and end-of-life care for veterans and their families.

Community Support and Entertainment

The event featured performances from school groups, community choirs, and a British Sign Language signing choir. A marching band, martial arts demonstration, and a visit from the local fire station crew entertained attendees.

VIPs included Worthing West MP Dr Beccy Cooper, West Sussex High Sheriff Gary Shipton, Worthing Mayor Lysanne Skinner, and town crier Bob Smitherton.

Home Manager's Gratitude

Vicky Strange, Home Manager at Care for Veterans, said: “We are incredibly grateful to everyone who joined us for our Summer Fayre and helped make it such a wonderful success. The generosity, enthusiasm and support shown by those who attended is truly heartwarming, and every penny raised will go towards supporting the care and rehabilitation of our residents. We are so proud to be part of such a kind, caring and welcoming community, and it was a pleasure to open our doors and bring people together for a day of fun and friendship.”
