Sainsbury's & Argos Recall Jungle Heads & Tails Toy Over Choking Hazard
Urgent recall for popular children's toy over safety risk

Two of the UK's major retailers have issued an urgent product recall for a popular children's game just hours before Christmas, warning parents of a serious safety risk.

What Toy Is Being Recalled?

Sainsbury's and Argos are recalling the "Jungle Heads & Tails" game manufactured by Orchard Toys. The product was sold in both supermarket and Argos stores nationwide. The recall was formally announced by the retailers on Christmas Eve, 24th December, as many families were finalising their festive preparations.

What Is The Safety Hazard?

The Government's Office for Product Safety and Standards (OPSS) has identified a specific choking hazard. A critical manufacturing error meant a small cardboard disc on the elephant character's nose was not removed during production. This disc can easily detach, posing a severe risk if swallowed by a young child.

Safety officials have emphasised that the toy is particularly dangerous for children under 36 months old, who naturally explore objects by putting them in their mouths. The OPSS confirmed the product fails to meet the Toys (Safety) Regulations 2011, rendering it unsafe for sale and use.

What Should Consumers Do Now?

Parents and caregivers must stop using the toy immediately and ensure it is kept well out of reach of children. The timing of the recall, just before Christmas morning, prompted urgent warnings to prevent the toy from being played with or given as a gift.

Both the manufacturer, Orchard Toys, and the retailers have initiated the recall to prevent potential injuries. Customers are urged to return the product to their point of purchase for a full refund.
